SUMMARY:Climate Adaptation Communication – Decoding Data and Risk for All
DESCRIPTION:Decisions about climate resilience are increasingly data-informed and increasingly complex. \nFor policymakers and practitioners\, this means working beyond black-and-white solutions to design interventions that acknowledge uncertainty\, mitigate risk\, and strengthen community resilience. \nThis Forum brings together practitioners who will share how they have found success in breaking down complex data and communicating it in clear\, contextualized ways. Through real-world examples\, speakers will demonstrate how communities of all sizes can proactively address climate risk. Attendees will be presented with a range of approaches for communicating climate data\, risk\, and the importance of adaptation in ways that are accessible\, credible\, and most importantly\, actionable. \nView the Agenda\nForum Schedule\n9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Registration & Networking\n9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Forum\n12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Lunch (optional) \nForum Speakers\nKeynote Speaker – Presenting Virtually \nKatharine Hayhoe\nClimate Scientist \n  \n  \nRegional Perspective \nEmma Gildesgame\nClimate Adaptation Director\, Massachusetts\nThe Nature Conservancy \n  \n  \nMunicipal Perspective  \nAnne Coglianese\nChief Resilience Officer\nCity of Jacksonville\, Florida \n  \n \nDelaney Morris-Landry\nSenior Climate & Coastal Resilience Infrastructure Delivery Project Manager\, City of Boston Planning\nPrevious Resiliency Manager\, City of Tacoma\, WA \n  \n  \nSmall Business Perspective – Ready\, Set\, Rhody \nAbbey Dahl\nPrincipal Planner\, Division of Statewide Planning\nState of Rhode Island \n  \n \nAlex Maxwell\, PhD\, CCP\nSenior Environmental Planner\nFuss & O’Neill \n  \n \nSilvana Mercado\nResiliency Manager\nRhode Island Commerce \n  \nModerated Discussion \n  \nForum Co-Chairs\nIndrani Ghosh\nVice President\, Resiliency Practice Leader\nWeston & Sampson \n  \n \nKyle Johnson\nClimate Resiliency Practice Lead (East Division)\nKleinfelder \n  \nRegistration Information\nThis forum will be organized in a hybrid format.
